Reflections with Fr. Mark
In our readings today, we hear: “What you have hidden from the learned and clever, you have revealed to the merest children.”  With this statement we know the heart of God looks beyond the trivialities of titles, wealth and power; instead valuing the depth of character and right relationship.

Thus, encouraging us to see the same in our own journey.  To be “childlike” is far different than being “childish” or petty.  The childlike have a trusting and loving behavior.

This is perfected in the example in the Gospels where Jesus places “a child in their midst” and states that whoever accepts a child…”  As we grow older, we often lose our “childlike” qualities that are reflective of the Kingdom of God.  Why?

Perhaps in this time of pandemic reflection we can rediscover our inner child and allow God to play ball with us once again!

Be assured of our prayers for you each day as we continue our journey together and apart.

Fr. Mark
