Dear Parishioners,
After having walked through the season of Lent, we begin this month still with fresh memories of our Holy Week and the Easter Triduum, followed by the passage of Pope Francis from this world into thearms of our Creator.
The collaboration of many of you was a very important factor in making our celebration of the Resurrection of Our Lord worthy and hopeful. Choirs, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, people who animated the Stations of the Cross held on Friday afternoons of Lent and the live Stations of the Cross performed on Good Friday, demonstrated how much we can do as a parish when there is willingness and generosity to put our time and talents at the service of the community.
After the time of mourning for the departure of Pope Francis, the Church begins the month of May with preparations for the conclave that will elect the new successor of Peter who will surely be announced before the middle of the month. May our prayers this month include gratitude to God for the gift he gave us with Pope Francis and his way of bringing so many closer to Jesus through a message of welcome to
the church for so many people who felt marginalized or distanced, for his words in favor of the neediest,
for the peace of the world and care for our environment.
Let us ask also the Holy Spirit to continue to assist our Church with the example and word of the next
Supreme Pontiff to continue to encourage and challenge us to follow Jesus more closely.
In these weeks after Easter, when various circumstances can make us feel uncertainty, fear and even
despair, may the hope that comes to us from the Risen Lord help us to continue to walk with trust, wisdom and generosity.
Sincerely,
Fr.Renzo
