LIVE THE LITURGY : Inspiration for the Week
When making decisions, we often struggle with what voice to follow. We acknowledge the presence of God, the existence of the Trinity, the priority of the Gospel, and the virtues and values they embody. Yet, even with all of that truth, knowledge, and tradition behind us, we think we know better. When confronted with a decision, we easily dismiss what we know we ought and need to do and entertain responses that stem from lesser desires and wants. We eventually may come around and realize that what God asks us to do is what we need to do, even if it wasn’t our original intention. God accepts our return to Him with joy. What becomes dishonest is deceiving ourselves, God, and others by originally saying yes to what we know we need (and are asked to do) and willfully doing something else. That is blatant hypocrisy.

A PRAYER FOR OUR PRIESTS
Gracious and loving God,
we thank you for the gift of our priests.
Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help all priests to be strong
in their vocation.
Set their souls on fire with love
for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding,
and strength they need to
follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Inspire them with the vision
of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need
to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy
in their ministry.
Help them to become instruments
of your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns
as our Eternal Priest.
Amen.

FEAST DAY: SEPTEMBER 29
SAINT MICHAEL, SAINT GABRIEL
AND SAINT RAPHAEL
These archangels, messengers sent by God, are the only ones named in the Bible. In the Book of Daniel, Michael is called “the great prince”; in the Letter of Jude, he argues with the devil over Moses’ body; and in the Book of Revelation, he leads the battle against Satan. He is patron of the sick, radiologists and mariners. Gabriel explains Daniel’s visions to him in the Book of Daniel, and in the Gospel of Luke announces to Zechariah and Mary the births of their respective sons. He is the patron of messengers and telecommunications and postal workers. Raphael guides Tobiah in the Book of Tobit; he is patron of the blind, physicians and travelers. The church created their joint feast after the Second Vatican Council.

DÍA DE FIESTA 29 DE SEPTIEMBRE
SAN MIGUEL, SAN GABRIEL
Y SAN RAFAEL

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
OF ADULTS (RCIA)
An Invitation That Never Ends
- Have you been worshiping with us, but never officially taken the step to become Catholic?
- Have you been away from the Church, and have now returned, but want to know more?
- Have you been a Catholic all your life, but never celebrated all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist)?
- Have you joined us from a different background and would like to find out more about the Catholic Church?
If you (“or someone you know”) answers YES to any of these questions, you are invited to find out more through the process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It is a journey that begins with your questions. There is no obligation to join us as you discover more about your Catholic faith. The decision is ultimately yours to discern if this is to be your spiritual home. The invitation is always open: RSVP when you are ready! We look forward to welcoming you.
