Hope you all had a good summer! We have been busy getting apartments on the market in time for the post Labor Day selling season, but I would like to share with you a
Staging Success Story from the Spring selling season that recently closed.
This estate condition
apartment was in dire need of some updates and new furnishings. The estate's family removed all of the personal belongings and furniture. Then, our contractor came in and spent a month removing wallpaper and carpeting, painting, refinishing floors and switching out light fixtures for more updated ones we had chosen.
Upon completion, Designed to Appeal brought in beautiful furniture and decorative accessories to stage each room of this 10 room apartment to show its fullest potential to a prospective buyer.
See the
Before and After
photos below for the dramatic transformations.
After investing about $80,000 or 1.2% of its list price in the updates and staging, this $6,495,000 apartment "sold" within two weeks for 97% of its asking price!
Warm Regards,
Do

It was a pleasure working with Donna. In addition to beautifully staging our listing, she oversaw the contractor and presented a very clear and comprehensive work plan to our clients. Her attention to detail both in business and in design are admirable! In the end we had an accepted offer within two weeks and achieved a strong selling price. Thank you!

On a Mobile Kitchen Island
If you have a mobile kitchen island, add a towel bar to one side. Above, the brass bar for kitchen towels is a great addition to this table-turned-kitchen-island from

Expand Available Entryway Space
If have a little extra wall space, you can mount a bar to the wall and add s-hooks to hang your bags. This home, from
Refinery29
, used an inexpensive bar in the entryway and doubled its storage capacity.
Choose Reflective Materials
Mount a bar underneath your kitchen cabinets for an extra storage boost. It's a great place to hang often-used utensils and mugs.
Swoon Worthy

Jessie of
Messy Jesse

Forever cemented in pop-culture as the site of Woodstock (and the backdrop of Dirty Dancing) the Catskills boasts some of New York's most charming small towns, many of which are just two-and-a-half hours outside of the city.

Known for its literary and musical culture (Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House was the setting for Little Women; Edith Wharton had a home there), the Berkshires are where the Boston city slickers go for a taste of the good and quiet life.
Hudson Valley, NY

Something tells us glampers dig the Instagram. Maybe it's the constant postings. Whatever the reason, more than enough 'Gram gold can be found in Hudson Valley-a glamper's paradise.
Lenox, MA

Once known as the "inland Newport," this charming town in The Berkshires was a popular destination for wealthy vacationers during the Gilded Age. The walkable New England hamlet still attracts plenty of discerning travelers today with loads of cultural options and a prime location for leaf peeping around the region.
Stowe, VT

When it comes to fall foliage, Vermont is king. The state has the country's highest percentage of maple trees, and no better retreat exists for scoring that color-bursting seasonal photo. That's especially true in Stowe, a valley town in Northern Vermont.
