Newsletter 13 | Week of Nov. 13-17
Patriotism is alive and well at Park Maitland School! This week, we enjoyed honoring our heroes, the United States veterans, during our annual Veteran's Day ceremony! It was heartwarming to see the pride on the faces of our many honored veterans and the looks of respect and awe on the faces of our students. Stories were told, songs were sung, poetry recited, lessons taught, flags folded, ROTC marching, scouts leading, veterans sharing, and more -- all in honor of the special men and woman who have or are still sacrificing so much for our freedom!

A special thanks to:
  • Guest speaker, Mr. Jim Smith, our passionate keynote speaker, honored U.S. veteran.
  • Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy for speaking at the ceremony and dedicating a United States flag, which was flown over our nation's Capitol, in honor of Mr. Greg Wood. Mr. Wood is the recently deceased husband of Ms. Donna Wood and a Purple Heart veteran.
  • Scout Master Foley and Troop Leader Sapna Majors for their leadership with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
  • The many honored veterans who attended our ceremony and allowed us to pay our deepest respect and gratitude! You are our heroes!

Patriotism and respect for our country and its history remain a valuable and integral part of our school curriculum and our daily celebrations as we work to prepare our students to be productive and successful leaders and peacemakers of tomorrow!  The need for us to model the importance of our nation coming together as a human race to show love, kindness, and respect towards our veterans and one another is stronger than ever.

Yes, patriotism is alive and well at Park Maitland School!

God Bless America!
