This week, our 2nd-grade students celebrated a very special event! Across Generations is a time when 2nd-grade students reach “across a generation” to explore the life of their chosen “VIP” - an older friend or family member in their lives. This person may be a grandparent, a great-grandparent, a great aunt or great uncle, a neighbor, or a friend of the family. Nothing can duplicate the looks of gratitude, love, and joy on the faces of our VIP guests and their little hosts at our Across Generations event! Some special guests come from across the country or out of the country to be here! The history that is shared and the special bonding, as a result, is an experience that is simply irreplaceable and will build memories that will last a lifetime. Face to face storytelling and sharing of memories and life experiences from generation to generation is becoming a lost art. This project fosters these wonderful experiences and rekindles relationships that may not have had an opportunity to develop.
Our basketball teams were invited to attend a UCF/SMU game.
On Thursday, February 28th, Park Maitland Alum Annabelle Lawton (6th Grade Class of 2014) shared with our 5th-grade students her story of following her dream and using the 7 Habits to become a published author. Annabelle worked in collaboration with our very own talented Ms. Flavhan for the illustrations in her book, and after 18 months published "So You Want To Go To Camp" which is currently available on Amazon and Kindle!
Our first annual Senior Games were a "hit", everyone had a "ball"! The games ended in a tie 2-2 between Staff and Seniors, tie breaker coming soon!
Some of our first grade students helped harvest the tomatoes from their salsa garden!
K-5 students had a blast on their field trip to the Orlando Rep Theater to see Beat Bugs.
Our skating party was fun for all that attended!
6th Grade students had a blast on their field trip to Medieval Times! They then enjoyed a presentation about Medieval knighthood, suits of armor, helmets, chain mail, and all things "knight-ish" from P.E. teacher, Mr. Larrimore.
More photos from these events can be viewed on our  Smug Mug account. The password to access is tradition1819. Enjoy!
The Orlando Science Center is graciously offering Park Maitland families a 20% membership discount. (This can also be used for renewal memberships). Just fill out the attached form and return to the front desk c/o Ms. Danae Pollack, by Tuesday, March 12th. Don't miss this amazing benefit!

*  Participants also receive reduced rates for summer programs as well as fun advanced tickets for events year round. This offer is available for renewals and new memberships*
You are invited to a special day of school tours designed just for alumni to celebrate Park Maitland's Golden 50th anniversary. Come be part of our student-led tours and visit with administration and teachers.
