We are so proud to share that Zara Kalmanson is our 2018-2019 Walt Disney Dreamer and Doer Recipient!

The Walt Disney Dreamer and Doer Award is given to one student with a winning combination of attributes that reflects strong character, positive attitude, and persistence to take advantage of opportunities. We are so proud of Zara and all of our Dreamer and Doer Finalists!
K-4 students followed a trail of green glitter to their classrooms where they found shenanigans afoot! Sneaky Leprechauns were on the loose!
Our Jelly Fudge Friends had a blast at their St. Paddy's Day Scavenger Hunt!
Our 3rd-grade students SHINED as they presented their books to teachers and classmates during our Author's Tea event. Each student was able to select a passage from their book to share with their teachers and classmates.

We were also so excited to welcome Jeanie Fitchen, a Florida folk singer, children’s author, songwriter, and our very own Cindy Moon’s sister, to present to our 3rd-grade class.

Thank you, Ms. Fitchen!
CONGRATULATIONS to our 3rd grade reading teacher, Ms. Commins, on the arrival of her new grandson, Miles!
On Wednesday we announced that Jeremy Litwack of Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is sponsoring the fifth grade Food Truck Challenge this year! He officially launched the project with a speech to the students about his journey to establish Jeremiah’s from a cart idea to a multi-location business. The successful entrepreneur talked to the students briefly about his backstory and marketing. He also surprised them with Italian Ice, t-shirts, and swag bags. Mr. Litwack plans to be fully supportive of the entire challenge, returning for a “business meeting” with our five finalists during the first week in May to critique their portfolios and give feedback for the final round.
Our Glee Club put on a great show at their spring concert. Thanks to all that came out to support them!
Congratulations to Park Maitland Alum (and son of our own Mrs. Eichelberger), Kobe Eichelberger, and the Wheaton Basketball Team. They made it to the NCAA Final Four. Kobe scored 10 points and seven rebounds (a team high) during their final game.
We are so proud!

Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary is dedicated to helping exotic and abandoned animals who cannot be released into the wild. The sanctuary burned down last month and the owner/founder lost his entire home, many of his rescued animals, supplies, and a huge portion of the animal housing. He needs help rebuilding his refuge and to continue helping animals in need.

We will be hosting a $2 dress down day on Wednesday, March 27th for this cause!
Prop Help Needed!

Our drama department is looking for some donations for prop pieces for Mary Poppins. They are in need of two wooden children's toy boxes. They will be altered permanently, so donation is best. They need to have a flat top and be sturdy enough to stand on and large enough for a child to fit in (like the one pictured below). They don't have to match but should not have a child's name on them.

They are also in need of a large dollhouse. It won't be changed in any way and we promise we'll be careful with it!
Mrs. Talbert would like to invite
1 st  - 3 rd  grade library students to participate in our Summer Reading Book Swap!
Mark your calendars!
Books will be collected starting April 8th until April 19th. (Spring Break is a great time to clean out your bookshelves).
