It's a jolly holiday with Mary...
And our entire 6th grade cast!

Following our Women's History Assembly, our 6th graders treated us all to a sneak peek of Mary Poppins when they performed Step in Time! We followed it up with some "pop"cicles in celebration of the upcoming show.
CLICK HERE to hear a sweet message from Carly Baron, who played Jane Banks in the original Broadway production of Mary Poppins! Thank you to Mrs. Farley's brother for orchestrating this sweet surprise!
Bert and Mary made special appearances in our K-4 and K-5 classes on Friday, where they read the picture book Mary Poppins , and answered questions about their upcoming play!
The sweet girls in Troop #1872 wrote a letter to Mrs. Moon asking if we could host a $2 Dress Down Day for the Orange County Public Schools Kids' Closet....

"Dear Mrs. Moon,

Our troop is taking action to make our community a better place. Can the school have a dress down day, $2 or more dollars to help the Orange County Public School Kids Closet? We are going to take the funds to buy socks and underwear for students that are homeless in Orange County. Thank you for considering. You are awesome. We love you!

Troop #1872"
4th grade students did a phenomenal job on their presentations for the annual speech-writing contest.
We invite all students to participate in a $2 Dress Down Day on Thursday, April 25th, to benefit the Orange County Public School Kids' Closet .
5th grade students are partnering with IKEA for their legacy project, and had the exciting honor of touring and receiving a fun hands-on experience at the Orlando store.
Students enjoyed food, fun activities, and fabulous books at the 3rd grade read-in!
We are proud of all of our basketball teams on a season well played! CONGRATULATIONS to the teams pictured below, as each won their final championship, and finished the season undefeated!
2nd Grade - MAGIC
3rd Grade - JAYHAWKS
6th Grade - GREEN EAGLES
This was a big year for Eagle Athletics! 43% of eligible students were on a Park Maitland sports team this year! We won 6 out of 10 possible championships, and 5 of our 6 championship teams were undefeated. We are so proud of all of our student athletes.

Our annual Art Faire & Variety Show will take place on Friday, April 26th. Parents will be invited to attend the Art Faire during the school day at their child's designated class time. The Variety Show: Park Maitland's Got Talent, will take place later in the day.

We are happy to announce the kick off of our annual Park Maitland School art auction, which has just gone live, online! As we prepare for our annual school Art Faire on April 26th, we wanted to give you a sneak peek at these beautiful masterpiece that each class created!

Upcoming ITBS Testing
National Standardized Test

Grades 1 - 3: April 8-11

Grades 4 - 6: April 15-17

We work very hard to teach your child well. They do not need to focus on preparing for this test. No particular "prep" at home or school is necessary. We do, however, encourage your child to relax, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive to school on time during their ITBS testing week.
Prop Help Needed!

Our drama department is still in need of two wooden children's toy boxes. They will be altered permanently, so donation is best. They need to have a flat top, be sturdy enough to stand on, and large enough for a child to fit in (like the one pictured above). They don't have to match but should not have a child's name on them.
Follow these steps to access the Read to Lead page on our new website layout:

1. Select "For Parents"
2. Select "Grade Level Pages"
3. Select "Classroom Pages" in the Grade Level box
4. Select "Resources"
5. Scroll to the bottom for "Read to Lead"

Read to Lead logs are due by the last school day of each month.
