Sports Fest

Our lower elementary Sports Fest events were a huge success with great competition and lots of encouragement and friendly cheers.

This week our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students will test their skills on the field!
We are so proud of 6th grader, Hudson H., for his partnership with Early Learning Coalition of Orange County. He collected and donated hundreds of children's books for his passion project. Great job, Hudson!
2nd grade students are continuing to have a great time exploring and learning about different career choices in Ms. Dick's social studies classes. Thank you so much to the presenting parents!
Students in our aftercare Strings and Piano classes did a fantastic job in their recitals this week.

Pictured above is our Advanced Strings class. Mr. May says they are, “The most advanced strings group ever at Park Maitland!”
We love celebrating our students hard work and accomplishments! 3rd grader Ensley A. finished the 2018 USAG Level 3 Florida State Gymnastics Championships with an overall All-Around Ranking of #9 in the State. She finished #6 in the State for both the Floor and Bars events.
"Q" and "U" Got Married...Again!

Every spring, Mr. "Q" and Ms. "U" have a very fancy wedding with all of their K-4 friends and their parents in attendance. Following the ceremony, the newly weds (with the help of their friends) donate all of their wedding gifts to Florida Hospital! This sweet and memorable tradition is one of our best!

Congratulations to our beloved 5th grade Reading/ESW teacher, Ms. Carrier, now a Finalist for Nobel Learning Communities Teacher of the Year - A National Award! Ms. Carrier is one of 3 Semi-finalists out of over 200 K-12 schools across the nation! As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we could not be more proud of all of our outstanding teachers!
Student athletes should wear their sports jerseys on Friday, May 10th for the sports awards assembly. We are so excited to celebrate our student athletes!
Friendly Reminder: All outstanding library books are due at this time!
LUNCH CELEBRATION

Mrs. Talbert will be hosting a Read to Lead Pizza Lunch Celebration on Wednesday, May 15th for all students who participated in Read to Lead every month throughout the school year! An invitation will be sent home to those who qualify.
