Making your mark!

Students all over campus joined others across the world to celebrate International Dot Day this week! “The Dot” encourages us to be brave about expressing ourselves. It gently reminds us to start small and explore the IDEA. It is also a tribute to great teachers who know how to use humor, “off-the path” approaches, and who have the vision to see the possibilities in EVERY student!

One such teacher, among our many, is Ms. Maggie Flavhan, our art teacher, who always encourages her budding artists to make their mark and express themselves with confidence, imagination and wonder. Students were so very excited to celebrate creativity, courage and collaboration this week as they worked to make a mark on the world and on my office in the creation of the painting above. I am now the proud owner of this masterpiece!
Ms. Flavhan with K-4 Yellow and 2 Blue presenting the painting to Mrs. Moon!
Across the campus each day, I am awe inspired as our students learn to make their mark!

Warmly,

Mrs. Cindy Moon

Thank you so much to everyone who donated supplies to the Bahamas! Our students and parents joined forces last weekend to collect, transport, and organize the astonishing amount of Bahamas relief supplies that were collected. We are so thankful to our Student Ambassadors, Mr. Courson, AirUnlimited, and several of our AMAZING parents who spearheaded this mission. What a beautiful act of kindness that we were lucky enough to be a part of and will never forget!

Message from the Security Manager, Mr. Johnson:
A few helpful hints and reminders!

Dismissal-
  • Name Placards: Please leave the hanging name placards up on your dashboard until your child/children are in your vehicle. These placards are used as a security measure and to speed up the pick up process. As you are pulling up in front of the gym, the teachers are looking at those name placards to make sure your child is standing at that station.

  • After School Club Dismissal: Please do not come early when you are picking up your child from an after school club. Please know what time the club lets out and arrive 5 to 10 minutes after the time the club ends. This will give the children a chance to get to the gym before you arrive. By arriving early you create a situation where you will have to park or be asked to exit the school and drive around the block.

Remember we must all work together to ensure the safety of our students, parents, faculty and staff at Park Maitland.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at: [email protected] or call (407) 647-3038 x248.

As always, thank you in advance for your cooperation,
Mr. Jesse Johnson
Security Manager

The Spanish Department is looking for support for our upcoming Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly on October 21st in two ways!

  • First, we are seeking authentic Spanish musicians who would be willing to play at the Assembly.
  • Secondly, we are seeking any Spanish members of the Community in various professions who would be interested in speaking at the assembly.

If you or someone you know would be a good fit for either of these needs, please contact Ashley Diaz  [email protected]  or Marilina Richardson  [email protected] by October 11th . Thank you!
