September is Leukemia Awareness Month and we are offering students a dress down day for a $2 donation (or a monetary donation of any kind)  on Tuesday, September 25th . Money raised will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

*On dress down days, students can wear anything they'd like as long as it is school appropriate. Uniforms tops and bottoms are not required.*

We are so proud to welcome Ms. Carol T. Miller L.C.S.W. to Park Maitland School! Ms. Miller is the Founder and Director of Social Bridges ® . She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work, and a Bachelor's Degree in Education/Drama Therapy, Florida License #SW7648.

Ms. Miller has worked with children for over 30 years in a variety of therapeutic settings. Ms. Miller co-authored the curriculum for both the Social Bridges ® clinic and school-based programs. In addition, she provides professional development for educators and mental health professionals, social coaching and counseling throughout Florida.

We have received your feedback from our recent uniform survey, and we are currently reviewing the responses received. Thank you to all who participated!
Welcome to Our New School Guidance Counselor!

We are delighted to introduce Mrs. Julie Jaworski as our School Guidance Counselor. Mrs. Jaworski comes to Park Maitland highly recommended in the Maitland/Winter Park community with an extensive background in education and counseling. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota-Moorhead, and in 1992 earned a Master's Degree in Counselor Education from Iowa State University. She is certified in Elementary Education, Counseling Education, and Exceptional Student Education. As an educator for 30 years, she has taught 4th and 5th-grade self-contained classrooms, a combination 4th/5th classroom for students with behavior issues, gifted, and remedial for students who were retained, as well as served as a school counselor and staffing coordinator.

When not in a classroom environment, Mrs. Jaworski enjoys swimming, biking, and running and has trained for and competed in a triathlon. In addition, when football season rolls around, there is no one more passionate about the Green Bay Packers than Julie! Go, Pack, Go!!

Mrs. Jaworski is also the mother of two incredible young adults, Griffin and Elsa, and wife of 31 years to her best friend, Dan. She is extremely passionate about education and has recently started an after school non-profit called Mrs. J's Place, Inc. to help serve underprivileged students with tutoring and foundational skills. We are thrilled to have Julie who is very excited to bring her passion for education to the Park Maitland community!

Our 2nd annual Dot Day did not disappoint. We loved seeing all of our students and staff dressed in their dots!
Mr. H led our K4 students in their Happy Hat Parade on Friday! The children have loved learning about letters with the Letter People.
6th Graders got super comfy at Movie Night! They are truly cherishing all of the exciting Super Senior events that come with their final year at Park Maitland.
5th Graders participated in their first Coursonomics auction!

The Congressional App Challenge

Calling all K4-6th Grade Students! The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress! This opportunity was presented to Park Maitland Students on behalf of Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy's office!
