UPDATED Park Maitland COVID FAQ

The Native American Festival is one of many favorite traditions at Park Maitland School. It's one that our third graders will always cherish! Students had the full cultural experience thanks to Jim Sawgrass, who stated historic stories of his ancestors. Through his teachings, our students learned how Native Americans traded, used tools, and celebrated with traditional dances! To end the day on a great note, students enjoyed playing games on the field. All this and more can be viewed here.
I hope you all have a safe, restful and happy Thanksgiving!

Spring 2022

For our water sports fans, Sensational Swimmers Club will be starting this year as a club for our first through fourth grade group. This club is designed for swimmers who are enjoying the water and want to explore the technique of each of the four competitive strokes. We will spend the semester preparing for a swim meet where swimmers will get the time to and be able to race their friends!

Watch out for more sports news as we are eagerly excited to get our Park Maitland students cheering again at our sporting events, especially the Park Maitland swim team.

Teacher Tuesday
Teaching has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Two of my grandparents went on to become principals after teaching for most of their lives and one of my grandmothers was an elementary school teacher. I have taught every single grade from kindergarten to 12th grade throughout my 15 years! In high school I taught Psychology, Strength Training and Conditioning, Sports, Japanese, German, French, and Advanced Placement Spanish.

Being a teacher is the most rewarding profession. My students are a part of my heart, and they show me who I strive to be continuously. Children bring out the best in us. They make me laugh each day and they push me to be the best I can be!

My love for sports has also played a huge part in my life. I played basketball since 6th grade and coached the game for six years, snowboarded for 18 years, ran track and field, pole vaulted, and made it to the state finals for sprinting and hurdling! I love playing kickball, dodgeball, and just about any team sport.

My greatest passion in addition to teaching is rescuing and caring for animals, especially dogs. I care for dogs after school, volunteer at shelters and welcome rescued pets into our home. I believe animals are here to teach us how to love unconditionally and to cherish the people in our lives.

The greatest inspiration in my life is my family. My two precious girls, Leila and Maya, and my loving husband, Francisco. They remind me to embrace every moment that is a gift, to laugh, to smile, and to have fun!
