New York Times Bestselling author, James Ponti, was here! Today he left a mark at Park Maitland School, inspiring our third through fifth-grade classes about his love of writing books. He has written Dead City, Framed!, and his latest series, City Spies. "It was super cool, how he talked about his family and life," Oden H. said. Students could not stop raising their hands as they wanted to learn more about his books and how it feels to be a New York Times Bestselling author.

I started my journey with Park Maitland when my oldest daughter Natalie was in K4. Mrs. Cohen loved the projects and interactions I created with the students.
Each year I am impressed and inspired by the playful curiosity of each 6th grader. Their ability to absorb complex color theories, art vocabulary and principles and elements of design never fails to astonish me.
Although I am proud to say I have been employed by Park Maitland for 27 years I never feel like I am at work. Park Maitland School is my sanctuary. I play at Park Maitland School and explore art with exceptional young artists!

PARK MAITLAND HUNGER HEROES
February 14th is our annual "Park Maitland Gives Back" day. Each year, we set a goal and create a project for the entire school community. This year, we will be packaging 25,000 meals that will help feed needy families in Central Florida. To supply the materials and transportation for the 25,000 meals, we need your help raising $7,100. We Schools in Action student ambassadors have organized several fundraising options to help us earn the money.
To be a Hunger Hero, check out the flyer and the video for more information.
