Happy Friday everyone!
Park Maitland students recently participated in a Perennial Math national virtual competition. This competition is a qualifier for their national championships, held in the spring. Two Park Maitland math teams qualified for the Perennial National Competition.
The two math teams from Park Maitland who placed and qualified in this incredible event were sixth-graders Ella H., Gabe C., Teagan B., and Anika H., who finished 2nd, and our other sixth-grade team Cole O., Vee D., and Kelby A. finished third.
We could not be more proud of our Park Maitland students! Way to go!

Thank you to the Park Maitland School Foundation for this incredible event they sponsored on Sunday!
|
|
We are thrilled to announce that between the event and auction, the Foundation raised over $21,000! These funds will go back to the school to help develop and expand opportunities, events, and programs for students and faculty at both the preschool and main campus. We are still a relatively new nonprofit, but have big things in store help support our amazing school.

This is my 4th year at Park Maitland School, serving as the Director of Innovation and Technology. I have worn several hats over the years here at Park Maitland School, also teaching Mathematics, Design Thinking, Spanish, Coding, and Robotics.
My favorite memory at Park Maitland School is the 2019 Earth Maker Day event hosted by the Innovation Department. Students all around the campus participated in various Earth Day activities, celebrating both making and hands-on learning, as well as raising awareness surrounding best practices to help protect our planet. At the end of the day, students participated in an Earth Day fashion show, showing off their upcycled designs and makes. It was so much fun and I am excited that we are bringing it back again this year!
Fun fact about me: My family and I have an RV that we take across the United States to visit all the wonder-filled places there are to see in our beautiful country! Last summer, we visited Arizona and Utah. The summer before that we visited Colorado, Wyoming, and Montanna. We love how this type of travel allows us to explore and be spontaneous!
