Special today on
Banner Elk Magazine's
Please welcome our
newest family member, Asher.

Our house had been very empty since the sudden loss of our beautiful Trex on Memorial Day. Susan likes to think that Trex sent Ash to us to fill the void. Ash needed a home and we needed a dog. We are thankful to the wonderful staff at the shelter in Virginia who worked with Ash before we adopted him to help him understand that there is more to life than being crated 22 hours a day or tied outside.

Ash is everything you expect from a German Shepherd Dog: loyal, intelligent, alert, and protective. He enjoys living inside (especially with all the rain we've had lately) and is learning to play with toys. He has a kind of goofiness that lets us know he is learning to trust us and enjoy life. We are looking forward to having him as a member of our family for many years to come. I think Trex would be happy. -Royce Rivers, Banner Elk
