Why change the traffic pattern?

Over the years we've had several 'near misses' in our parking lot. Much of the congestion is due to folks using the drive-up book drop, and having two way traffic at that parking lot entrance.

We hope to minimize these issues by changing the parking lot entrances to one way. That way folks who are driving up to the book drop can do so on the drivers side without blocking traffic.

We know this will be a learning process for everyone. Signage and arrows will help us all to remember!

In addition, patrons walking into the library can now use the drop box located inside the parking lot entrance vestibule.

During our space planning meetings, we heard from many that being able to return books, without walking to the circulation desk, would be appreciated.
