What's Happening

The first segment of the Hawthorne Avenue emergency force main replacement is expected to be completed by Friday, May 22. Afterward, parking restrictions along Hawthorne Avenue for the second segment are:

• 79–80 streets: restrictions lifted on both sides.
• 79 Street to Crespi Park’s south end: parking restricted on both sides begins May 22–June 6, 2026.
• 80–85 streets: restrictions begin May 26–June 6, 2026.

The second segment will begin Tuesday, May 26 and is anticipated to be completed on June 6, 2026. The second segment involves directional drilling underneath Hawthorne Avenue from Crespi Blvd to the pump station at 81 Street. Equipment and pipe staging will occur along Hawthorne Avenue between 80–85 streets, and intersections and driveways will be temporarily blocked June 1–6 for pipe assembly and pull back. Please follow MOT plans for traffic detours.

Parking Alternatives

To assist affected residents, the City of Miami Beach is providing parking codes for Zone 26 participants to use municipal surface lots 108, 109, 110 and 111 for 24-hour parking. These codes are active now through Friday, June 5 or until further notice. Enter the code in the ParkMobile App.

City of Miami Beach residents may sign up for parking permits and programs by visiting the Miami Beach Parking website.
