Welcome to the Parks & Recreation Roundup, a bi-monthly publication aimed at
keeping the community informed on our programs, events, and partnerships
Piknik Theatre Festival
It's theatre outdoors and out of the box! Join The Great American Laughing Stock Company at the Yampa River Botanic Park for evening shows on August 7 and 8. The shows begin at 6 PM and last 75 minutes. GALSCO has brought live theater to the Yampa Valley for over 40 years, producing shows that range from the family to the fantastical. There are only a two shows left, so grab your blanket and head to the park!
Parking Meters Find New Life
How much is your favorite trail worth? When every cent counts and pennies can add up to big change, ten new donation stations at several local trailheads look to bring some serious cha-ching to the Trail Maintenance Endowment Fund. The fun refurbished parking meters are finding new life by collecting credit card donations at Emerald Mountain, Spring Creek, Ridge/ Rotary and Yampa River Core Trails.
Fetcher Park Road Closure
Due to increased safety concerns and the complexity of the overall project, Fetcher Park Road has moved to a full closure as Mount Werner Water & Sanitation works to upgrade a main sewer tank line in the area. At this time, vehicle access and parking is not permitted. The full closure will be in effect through November 1. During the full road closure, the park and public restroom will remain accessible via the Core Trail.
Quench Your Thirst
Staying hydrated is an important element when you are active in the outdoors, and that's just as vital for our four-legged friends. Thanks to Alpine Bank, visitors to Rita Valentine Park will now be able to quench their thirst with a new tri-level water fountain. The City's Parks & Recreation and Water departments, along with Steamboat Digs Dogs and Native Excavating worked together to develop and install the station.

This fun team event takes place on Saturday, August 10 from 9 PM to 12 AM, and the cost to play is $40 per person. Stop in to the Haymaker Patio Grill for dinner before you play.
