DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
FREE Beginner Tennis Classes
The Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs will be offering FREE youth beginner tennis classes in early January. Youth ages 6 to 18 are welcome to join the beginner and never-ever classes, which will be held on January 2 and 3. Classes for youth 6-11 years of age will take place from 9 AM to 10 AM, and classes for youth 12 to 18 will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Contact the Tennis Center today to register.
NEW Ski Ascent Series
We hope that you will join us this winter for the Town Challenge Ski Ascent Series. Similar to the summer Town Challenge series in format, inclusiveness and fun, the Ski Ascent Series will consist of 5 races throughout the winter season. Races will take place at both Steamboat Resort and Howelsen Hill Ski Area. Visit the website for additional details on the sport of Skimo, along with information on the series.
Winter Indoor Adult Sports
Registration for Winter Adult Sports is now open online! Adult recreation opportunities for this season include indoor Pickleball and Ultimate Frisbee, as well as indoor Soccer. Ultimate Frisbee will take place on Wednesday nights, Pickleball on Thursday nights, and Soccer will take place Tuesday and Wednesday nights this winter. Running Series Registration
Online registration is now open for all of the 2020 Steamboat Springs Running Series races. NEW enhancement for this year's series include an updated points system and a new youth age group. Also new for 2020, a 15% registration discount when you bundle and register for 5 or more races at the same time. The 2020 series boasts a total of 13 races, all with varying distances and unique terrain that cater to all abilities.
FEATURED EVENTS
World Pro Ski Tour
The World Pro Ski Tour brings the world's fastest dual ski racers together in a series of six races scheduled for the 2019-2020 season. The tour heads to Howelsen Hill Ski Area TODAY for the Moose Barrows' Trophy. Check out the action starting at 9:30 AM, and watch Two-Time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety race against other Olympians and Steamboat locals. Enjoy a festival-style finish area, live DJ, and more!
SUPER Ski Free Sunday
Join us on Sunday, January 12 for another installment of SUPER Ski Free Sundays at Howelsen Hill. This super-sized day of fun brings together food, live music, craft beer and more, from local partners like Mountain Tap Brewery, Ohana, Honey Stinger and Steamboat Radio. All you need to do is stop inside the historic Howelsen Hill lodge to grab a free ticket before hitting the slopes. We'll see you on Sunday!
