'Round the Town with Oscar Monthly Bike Rides & Walks Conclude in October for 2019
|
Join Mayor Oscar Trevino for the last 'Round the Town with Oscar monthly bike ride and 1 mile walk of the 2019 season. The Bike Ride on Tuesday, October 8 will be a "Back the Blue" ride. Riders are encouraged to wear blue to show support for all of our law enforcement personnel. The October ride begins at 6:00 p.m. from Northfield Park, 7804 Davis Boulevard. Then, j
oin the Mayor on his monthly 1 mile walk on Thursday, October 10 at 6:15 p.m. This leisurely walk will begin at Richland High School, 5201 Holiday Lane.

NRH Road Runner 5K Run October 5
The 2019 NRH Road Runner 5K Run/1 mile walk is coming up quick on Saturday, October 5 and registration is going on now!
The NRH Road Runner 5K Run/Walk is a timed event that begins at Green Valley Park and winds through the beautiful John Barfield and Calloway Branch Trails. Cash prizes will be awarded for Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female and Overall Masters Male and Female (50+). Awards presented three deep in each age group for the 5k Run.
Special Race Day Guest, Mr. Orville Rodgers: the Running Man, who at the age of 101 continues to inspire, motivate and challenge others to enjoy everything life offers.

Journey Tribute Band Escape Featured at Outdoor Concert and Laser Show
A FREE
laser light and music spectacular returns to North Richland Hills on Saturday, October 5. Join us for a concert featuring the Journey Tribute band, Escape and the evening will conclude with a laser light show presented by
Inside Image Design, LLC
out of Fort Worth. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. at NRH City Hall Plaza, 4301 City Point Drive.
Admission is free and parking is free. Public Parking must enter at the light off Boulevard 26 and Rodger Line Drive.
Food trucks will be on-site, and music lovers of all ages are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to relax picnic-style under the stars for this free, outdoor, family-friendly event.

Hoot n' Howl coming October 26
 A spooktacular NRH family tradition continues in 2019 with Hoot n' Howl on Saturday, October 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Green Valley Park, 7701 Smithfield Road. Activities will include: live owls, a haunted hayride, midway games, tot games, storytelling, puppet show, performances by community groups and candy for all. Admission, parking and activities are free and concessions will be available for purchase. Volunteers from area schools and community organizations will assist with the games and activities. Don't miss out on the family fun! Hoot n' Howl is sponsored by the City of NRH, Kyrstin Davis State Farm, Family Pet Clinic NRH and Visionary Martial Arts.

NRH Pop Up Art Gallery - Call for ART
CALL FOR ART: Artists aged 16 and up are invited to submit one photo sample by email of their best work for consideration to appear in the
November 2019 NRH Pop Up Gallery exhibition. Email submissions only. No fee to submit work.
The deadline is
October 11, 2019 at 5 PM and Artists will be notified of acceptance by email no later than Tuesday, October 15.
The exhibition will feature 2D works, including paint, ink, graphite, photography, digital, fabric, metal, plastic and wo
od. Artwork accepted into the show will be on view daily to customers of Kindred Coffee Co. Art sales will be made directly between the artist and purchaser.

NRH Veteran's Day Celebration on November 11
The City of North Richland Hills will host the 12th Annual Veteran's Day Celebration to honor those that have served in the armed forces on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The celebration is held at NRH City Hall, 4301 City Point Drive and will include: musical entertainment, NRH Police and NRH Fire Honor Guard presenting the colors, special guests and other entertainment. Help us welcome guest speaker and member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, Jody Dean. Please join the City of NRH on Veteran's Day to honor those that have served our country.
