GOLF COURSE UPDATE
It's been a great season at the South Portland Municipal Golf Course. There has been an uptick in play this year, and thanks to our awesome maintenance crew, the conditions have never been better. Truly a gem in our City.

The course is tentatively scheduled to close for the season at end of business on Sunday, November 15. This date is subject to change due to weather and course conditions. Please check our Facebook Page regularly for updates.

BE THE HERO BEHIND THE MASK!
In partnership with the Maine Department of Health & Human Services, the City of South Portland is joining in the effort to educate citizens about the coronavirus pandemic public health emergency. Above is artwork created by Small Elementary School Site Leader and Summer Camp Director, Luis Ventura! You will see these posters and banners throughout the City! Great job Luis!
GEOCACHING IN OUR PARKS!
Geocaching in our parks is back! Weekly coordinates are posted on our Facebook page. Once you find a cache, please log your name and date in the log book. We will post the winners of each week's $10 cash prizes (compliments of our friends and event sponsor Trademark Federal Credit Union) to our Facebook page each Wednesday! Each cache will have 4 winners, so the more caches you find, the more money you could win!

To make the event more exciting, take a selfie with the geocache and post it to Instagram or Facebook, using the hashtag #CashtoCashCorner and you’ll be entered for the chance to win $500 at the end of this year! Trademark Federal Credit Union is the best!

Please remember to respect the parks and trails by following Leave No Trace principles and staying off private property.

DOG WASTE ON WILLARD BEACH
We have recently noticed an increase of dog waste being left behind at the high tide line or near the dunes on Willard Beach. Please remember that picking up pet waste is part of pet ownership, the law, and a way to keep future dog privileges on the beach. Be sure to carry a bag, a spare, and one to share! Don't be the person to ruin it for everyone else. If you see someone not following this rule, and you feel comfortable, please give them a FRIENDLY reminder. Picking up pet waste keeps the environment healthy! Pet Care Fact Sheet.
MOOSE ON THE LOOSE!
These pictures were taken early one morning by South Portland Deputy Parks and Recreation Director Karl Coughlin. The moose, which has since been relocated to a more appropriate habitat, was seen last month walking in neighborhoods and visiting Willard Beach! rd
