Summer Rec Camp Financial Aid AVAILABLE!
Summer Rec Camp Financial Assistance Deadline - Friday, April 3, 2020
Financial Assistance applications for Rec Camps grades K-8 ONLY must be completed and turned in at the South Portland Community Center on or before Friday, April 3, 2020. You will receive a letter from us in response to your request regarding the amount of assistance that you may/may not receive by April 26, 2019. Financial Assistance forms can be obtained HERE or at the Community Center, 21 Nelson Rd. any time after January 6, 2020.

If you are requesting financial aid for any program other than Rec Camp, you MUST fill out the Nathan Savage Scholarship Application.
Nathan Savage Youth Programs Scholarship Fund
This scholarship program has been set up in honor of South Portland’s own, Nathan Savage. Funds are to be used towards any youth program offered through the Recreation Department except Summer Rec Camps and our After School Adventures Program.

Art at the Community Center!
Next time you’re in the Community Center, check out the wing to the pool locker rooms! Our youth life sized art class made this display completely out of recycled materials to show we should love the Earth. Thanks to our talented students and instructor, Lindsey Mattei for making the Community Center look so great!
Youth Volleyball Clinic (Grades 6-8)
We are pleased to have Coach Emily Savage back to offer middle schoolers a chance to come learn how to play volleyball! This is for kids who have never played before and those who want to brush up on their skills.

Dates: Tuesdays, March 10-April 7
Time: 6:30-8:00pm
Location: SPCC Gym
Cost: $50/$60 NR

Comic & Cartoon Drawing (Grades 3-6)
Enjoy learning to draw cartoon and comic book styles! From fun characters, to different lettering and story details - you will leave this class feeling like a professional comic book artist.

Dates: Thursdays, March 12-April 9
Time: 5:15-6:15pm
Location: SPCC Art Room
Cost: $65/$75 NR

Kids Gymnastics (ages 4-10)
This program, taught by the Maine Academy of Gymnastics, is an introduction to gymnastics centered around having fun.

Dates: Saturdays, March 7-April 4

Location: Redbank Community Center
Cost: $95/$105 NR

March Youth Open Gym Schedule
Check out our youth open gym schedule for the month of February. Children in grades K-5 must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Please do not just drop your child off for the afternoon. There is no charge for parents to attend.

Retirement & Investment Savings Workshop - FREE

Date: Thursday, March 19
Time: 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Cost: FREE (must register)

Upcoming Adult Leagues
CALLING ALL CAPTAINS! If you captain a team for one of our spring adult leagues (not including softball) we will give you a free season! We will refund your registration fee after the second week of games! Your team must hit the team minimum 2 weeks prior to the season start date.

Spring Softball Leagues
Team fee is $850.00 due by April 24. Free Agents are welcomed! Individuals/free agents will be placed on teams with available spots. Cost for individuals are $60.00 for South Portland Residents and $70.00 for Non-South Portland Residents. Individuals/free agents will be contacted at least 1 week prior to the season start date.

Senior Luncheon - Tuesday, March 3
Come connect with other seniors in the community while enjoying a delicious meal. One day a month, we will have a meal in the Senior Wing at SPCC. Free home pick-up is available for these meals for South Portland residents. We will have a guest speaker at each meal.

Join us for a Stroke Refinement Clinic Session and improve the technique and efficiency of your strokes.

Pool Party Rentals - interested in having a pool party at SPCC? We offer time slots of 2:00-3:00pm, or 3:00 - 4:00pm on Saturdays only. Log into your account at www.sopoparksrec.com to check availability and make a request.
 
Red Sox Family Trips 2020
South Portland Parks & Recreation is offering these two family friendly bus trips to see the Boston Red Sox in 2020. Transportation will be via custom coach with Northeast Charter & Tours. Game tickets are located in the right field grandstands - section 5 (June 7 game) and section 2 (August 15 game). 


Cost: $85/$95 Non-res (per ticket)

These trips will sell out so don't delay!
Teen Center at Redbank Community Center
Our Teen Center,located at the Redbank Community Center, is a free drop-in program for South Portland residents in grades 6-12.

Hours of operation
Mon-Fri - 2:30-6:00 pm
Times vary for early release days and vacation weeks.
