District Tree Removals
Winter Storm Uri damaged many trees across the District. The median on Great Oaks (between O'Conner to Dorman/Evans and Stonebridge to Hillside) has trees marked for removals. Tress at Cat Hollow parked are also marked. The trees are marked with a bright orange/pink ribbon.
 
  • Removal of trees is scheduled for July 28th

  • The removal process will take 2-3 weeks, pending no weather delays
 
The District will place door hangers on homes with the property directly adjacent to the areas with trees removed starting July 21.

  • There are 29 homes adjacent to Cat Hollow Park that will receive door tags

  • Cat Hollow Park has 51 lacebark elms that will be removed 

  • The trees on the median are 29 lacebarks and oaks 
 
The District will be planting 43 new trees in several areas, including:

  • 12 at Cat Hollow Park

  • 3 at Creekside Park

  • 29 in the medians (to replace some of the lost canopies from the storm)
 
Planting will take place in late July/August.



CAMP FOXTAIL POSITIVE COVID-19 CASES
Thursday 7/22/2021, The District was notified that a camper from our youth program “Camp Foxtail” tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

More reports came to The District over the weekend. 7 campers and 1 camp counselor have been reported to be asymptomatic (as of 7/29/2021)

The District is monitoring this situation and will continue to operate the camp under COVID-19 program-specific protocols. The 7 individuals who tested positive have not returned to the camp. For more information please visit our homepage
A new walkway has been added to Pepper Rock Park. Decomposing granite has been added the right entrance of the park (near the handicapped parking spots).
All parks and playgrounds in the District have been updated with new mulch! Over 1,100 cubic yards of mulch have been added around the trees and in the playgrounds.
