About Our Featured Speaker

Rabbi Marjorie Berman is a native of Madison, Wisconsin, and attended Earlham College, a Quaker institution, where she majored in Religion. She received her rabbinical degree in 2003 from Reconstructing Judaism. Currently, Rabbi Berman is the rabbi at Congregation Temple Israel of Lehighton in Northeastern Pennsylvania, teaches at Society Hill Synagogue in Philadelphia, and serves as a Spiritual Director for rabbinical students as well as rabbis and pastors. This year, she is also leading monthly services at Temple B’nai B’rith in Kingston. She also teaches several groups on women and aging.

Rabbi Berman brings a wide variety of interests to her work as a rabbi. Counseling, interfaith work, and bringing life to Jewish texts, history, and ritual are among her passions. She is also deeply committed to finding ways for Jews and others to foster a relationship between nature and spirituality. She enjoys incorporating artistic and meditative elements into her teaching and worship-leading. Most of all, she appreciates the opportunity to help people find meaning in their lives through spirituality, culture, ethics, social action, and community.

Vision Board Workshop

Led by Artist Nina Davidowitz

NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED

Sundays in Jan or Feb | 11:00am-1:00pm

$45 | $40 for JCC Members

It's a brand new year! Let’s make the most of it by creating our own unique Vision Boards to inspire us. A vision board is basically a collàge made up of pictures, images, words and phrases that are meaningful to you as you dream about what you may want to accomplish in the upcoming year. They are a great way to help you identify your goals in areas such as Travel, Career, Health, Relationships, Creativity, Vacation, and Personal Growth. Creating one is a wonderful mindfulness activity, and once your board is on display it serves as inspiration every time you look at it.

The class will begin with a meditation led by Paula Chaiken to help us visualize our goals and dreams. See below for the particulars regarding class supplies. And, feel free to bring snacks and a beverage of your choice!

Thet will provide poster board for each person, some basic art supplies, and some extra magazines and catalogues for cutting out words, phrases and pictures.

Contact Sally if you'd like to volunteer and help out.

that you RSVP to events as requested. This helps us ensure we prepare enough food without wastage. Your RSVP's are crucial.

We never want to turn anyone away, but ask that everyone makes it a priority to RSVP for future events.
