HELD WANTED:
to Listen to Desert Sound Recordings...

Hey, did you hear that? The desert is full of sounds -- coyotes howling, birds chirping, vehicles driving, planes flying....

In an effort to understand how human sounds propagate across the natural landscape and how those sounds might affect wildlife, we deployed 12 acoustic monitors in the Preserve last year. We removed those monitors in September but now have hundreds of thousands of hours of recordings to review.

You can help! We need volunteers to listen to the recordings and tag sounds they hear. The job is easy to do and can be completed from the comfort of your home. Interested in helping?
