WE’RE HERE FOR YOU.

Appreciating Family

Have you gotten used to writing ”2023” yet?

I am hoping you are enjoying the fresh start that January promises us. We have been busy as ever on both sides of the office, chiropractic and nutrition. As such, you'll notice that we have included chiropractic news this month. That's because we are very excited to introduce you to a few of our chiropractic families.

Whether you are under the care of the Center for Nutrition and Wellness or the Upper Perk Chiropractic Center or even if you're just a regular reader of this newsletter, we are thrilled to have you as part of our family.

Meanwhile, we cannot forget that there are families in our area who cannot afford to eat well. The Open Link is here to help. Their Community Food Pantry is, according to their website, “designed to provide food to local families who do not currently have the financial means to meet their nutritional needs. There are two types of assistance through the food pantry: emergency food provided through community food donations and the government food program. Eligibility varies by program.”

Please see the list of needed items in the flyer below. Then, consider bringing one or two into the office during February. Together, let us help those in our extended family who are in need.

I've started 2023 with a two-part article on a topic that is essential to good health. Don't be intimidated by the title. It's worth your attention, as the topic is a key component for both your mental and physical health.

Although I didn't have room to talk about it in this newsletter, know that January is Thyroid Awareness Month. We at the Center have access to a powerful tool to evaluate whether gluton is negatively affecting your thyroid function. Be sure to ask if you suspect this is the case.

Finally, there is still time to sign up for one of our Full System Detoxification Cleanse Preview sessions. I promise you: this program will get your 2023 off to a great start!

We're here for you,

Dr. Pfeiffer

Microorganisms, the Microbiome, and How We Interact With Them

Part Two

by Dr. Pfeiffer

I started this two-part series telling of the gut microbiome’s role in digestion and nutrition and its effect on the absorption of specific nutrients. I promised, then, to show how these microorganisms impact our physical and mental health. While the information in part one is well known and widely accepted, I can also share with you some of the evidence that research has revealed for this second, lesser-known point as well.

UPPER PERK CHIROPRACTIC

Bert and Doris Stover

My wife Doris and I both had severe pain in our backs on and off for years. We took steroid meds and different pain meds at different times. The pain would lessen and later come back. Doris even had injections at trigger points in her back. Both of us tried physical therapy several different times. A good friend recommended Dr. Pfeiffer to Doris and after he worked on her spine, her pain went away, and I started chiropractic on my back because of Doris’ good results.

Doris’ pain is gone, and my pain is much less. I can now sleep through the night. Before chiropractic Doris could not sleep, ride in the car or do too much of anything. With much less pain now, I can cut, split, and stack firewood and ride the tractor to mow the lawn and we both work in the gardens. If you have severe pain in your back, take it from us, chiropractic care with Dr. Pfeiffer can really make a great difference.
