What Should the Region’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Priorities Be?

Take this Survey!

You are invited to participate in a survey that will help us understand some of the most important challenges and needs in communities as it relates to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including air pollution. The survey should take about 10 minutes and responses are needed by December 31, 2023. Your input will inform the development of a regional greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction plan.

The Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact, a partnership between Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties, is leading the development of a regional greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) reduction plan, which will reduce air pollution that is warming our planet, clean up our air, and provide important benefits to communities in the region, such as reduced energy bills, improved public health, and more jobs. The plan will cover the four-county region, inclusive of Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties.

This opportunity has been made possible through the EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, which has allocated each of the largest 67 most populous metropolitan areas in the country a $1 million planning grant to develop a regional GHG reduction plan. The development of this plan will position all local and tribal governments in the four-county region to be competitive to apply directly for the next phase of discretionary awards ($4.6 billion in funding) to implement mitigation projects and strategies that are developed under the regional plan.
