Dear SoCalREN Participating Raters ,

We would like to provide an update on the County of Los Angeles/Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) Multifamily Program for the 2018 Program year, effective March 7, 2018.
 
  • Effective immediately the Multifamily Program is open and accepting projects under the 2017 guidelines. 
  • The proposed 2018 Program Updates are still under evaluation and may be implemented at any time. To the extent that any new incentive or benefit is available under any 2018 adjustments to the Program, any enrollment application that is submitted prior to the implementation of the 2018 Program Updates may elect to have said project calculated and applied under either the 2017 Program design or the 2018 Program adjustments. All Participating Raters will be notified immediately, and given notice as to when the Program changes will be implemented. At this time, we do not anticipate radical Program changes, which would be subject to the prior approval of the Commission; but, rather, adjustments and refinements that promote existing Program uptake, motivate uptake, stimulate to-code and beyond-code measures, and meet the Commission’s overarching Portfolio goals.

  • The Program remains funded through December 31, 2018 per California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) funding authorizations.
 
  • Please note that we currently anticipate a Proposed Decision in the Rolling Portfolio energy efficiency proceeding within the next quarter, and that we will be convening Multifamily Participating Contractors over the next 45 days to survey and poll 2018 and Rolling Portfolio changes that would enhance and optimize the Multifamily Program.

The SoCalREN team appreciates your understanding as we refine our Program offerings for customers. The Program design is subject to change, and the Program team will notify Participating Raters immediately when changes are made.
