Families and Survivors:
The North Dakota Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division through Vision Zero is holding an upcoming event to provide a meaningful remembrance to honor loved ones who lost their lives or were seriously injured in North Dakota traffic crashes. If you are a parent, spouse, child, sibling, or friend of a crash victim, we invite you to join us for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, in Memorial Hall at the North Dakota Capitol.
The World Day of Remembrance is an international event held annually to honor the millions of people killed and millions more injured on the world’s roads each year. It is organized for change to prevent such tragedies.
Vision Zero invites you to attend to raise awareness and honor the lives lost every year in traffic fatalities, in hopes of sharing your stories to prevent future tragedies on North Dakota roads. Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to attend this public event.
Attendees are invited to bring items representing your loved one to create a temporary memorial representing the lives of those lost who are gone but not forgotten. Items will be returned immediately following the event. We’ll also observe a moment of silence.
Please RSVP so we know you’re coming.
This program is offered with sponsorship from FHWA, ND Department of Transportation, Western Dakota Energy Association, ND Insurance Reserve Fund, ND Township Officers Association, the Northland Chapter of the American Traffic Safety Services Association, and ND chapter of the American Public Works Association.
