A Note from our Executive Director
Dear friend,
There is a famous saying – If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. I feel so grateful for our partnerships. It’s right in our name: LEAP: Learn. Engage. Advocate. Partner. I know we are so much more effective because of partnerships. And, we have so many to be thankful for.
Here are just a few: By partnering with the Rein Scholars program in New York, we’ve received positive and loving teens playing with our students, and we’ve provided training for those teens. By partnering with the Goleta Union School District, we are able to provide positive relationships with students and resources to parents in order to jointly strengthen GUSD families. By partnering with Immigrant Hope, we’re able to bring accurate information and resources to our immigrant community at monthly webinars.
There are so many more partnerships to highlight. I’m also filled with gratitude for those groups who want to support us with fundraisers or volunteer activities. I’m grateful to the CASC student group for volunteering to pack diapers and help us raise funds to keep our diaper bank stocked. I’m grateful to Old Town Coffee in Goleta for selecting LEAP to be the beneficiary of their Bingo night on July 12 on August 9. I hope you’ll join me at the August bingo night. I’d love to see you there.
If you are interested in a partnership – leading a diaper drive, hosting a fundraiser, or just learning more, please contact me.

Goodbye Eileen Monahan: Thank You For Your Leadership
As Eileen Monahan’s time on our board comes to a close this month, we wanted to express our sincere gratitude for her leadership and service the last 10 years. Thank you for being part of the LEAP family.
"My children, who are now stellar adults, grew up with IVYP! I am pleased and proud to be able to give back through LEAP for all the support and care we received over the years. As someone who has seen the organization through a multitude of changes and iterations, I can strongly say that the core goodness, creativity and community-serving heart has remained, and LEAP is fully ready to support the next generation of families across the central coast."

Diaper Drive with CASC
Our friends at CASC are supporting our Diaper Bank! With 1 out of 2 parents struggling to afford diapers for their babies, diaper need is a serious issue. We appreciate the caring people at CASC who are helping raise awareness and donations to fund our Diaper Bank. As you may know, our diaper bank provides free diapers and wipes to keep babies healthy and dry.

Harvest of the Month
Romano beans, also known as Italian flat beans, bring a delightful twist to any culinary adventure. These wide and flat pods are larger, meatier, and sweeter than regular green beans, reaching up to 8 inches in length. Packed with fiber, protein, and folate while being low in calories, they offer a nutritious boost. A staple in Mediterranean cuisine, Romano beans pair well with garlic, tomatoes, herbs, and olive oil.
The lemon-garlic butter in this dish elevates the sweetness in this dish. It pairs well with grilled chicken, fish, and steak.

LEAP needs your support as we work hard to support our community. Please consider a donation to LEAP’s General Donation Fund to help us continue to provide the caring, proactive and flexible support our community needs.

Be a diaper champion by sponsoring the cost of diapers for local families. Diapers are one of the most consistent requests from our families at our FRC. Disposable diapers can cost as much as $100 per month per baby so every contribution makes a big difference.
