Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

The Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SRR) has two upcoming professional development opportunities available for you.

These sessions are designed to introduce (or reintroduce) you to the work of SRR and, more importantly, how our office partners with you to support students in moments that matter. SRR plays a vital role in fostering a safe, respectful, and student-centered learning environment. We help students navigate challenging situations while promoting growth, responsibility, and continued academic success.

During the training, we will:

  • Provide an overview of the SRR process and what happens after a referral is submitted
  • Clarify when and how to submit a report
  • Share recommended response strategies for varying levels of behavioral situations
  • Discuss how to support students in distress while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Outline how SRR can serve as a thought partner when concerns arise

Our goal is not only to respond to incidents, but to equip you with the tools, clarity, and confidence to navigate student behavioral concerns.

We invite you to join us to learn more about our area, ask questions, and explore how we can continue strengthening our partnership in supporting students.
