The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Office (ARO) anticipates awarding a Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract to selected IHE partners to provide basic and applied research, as well as advanced technology development.

 

ARO is seeking the ability to:


  • Rapidly develop CUI-through-TS/SCI Science and Technology (S&T) projects


  • Apply unique solutions and innovative ideas


  • Characterize new technologies and system concepts that provide evolutionary, revolutionary and disruptive capabilities


  • Enable S&T transitions through the use of prototyping or other industry methods to ensure the technology has military utility


ARO is seeking for all Academia Offerors/lnstitutions to provide support in the following Army focused six (6) technical fields of interest:

 

  • Biology (non-medical focus): Exploring the potential of biological systems for Army applications, including synthetic biology, biomaterials, and bio-integrated technologies, including cognitive enhancement and integrated sensors.


  • Material Science: This research area focuses on producing and analyzing advanced materials and their interactions. This includes understanding how materials behave and interact under extreme conditions, such as weapon impacts.


  • Electronics: Advancing capabilities in sensing, counter-sensing, electronic warfare, and spectrum protection.


  • Chemistry: Designing and developing advanced materials with exceptional properties, including lightweight strength, self-healing capabilities, and novel manufacturing processes. Developing innovative solutions for power generation, storage, conversion.


  •  Information Sciences: Leveraging computational power, Al, and secure networks to enhance military operations. Research includes using artificial intelligence for decision-making, investigating human-technology teaming, and securing information across all operational domains through advanced cyber defense and encryption.


  •  Physics: Exploring the frontiers of quantum computing/information, advanced timing technologies, photonic/electronic devices based on emerging quantum materials, and directed energy technologies (including lasers).
