SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT
This Month's School Spotlight is Alexander High School!
Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority is a Douglas County School System District Partner. Earlier this month, each school in Douglas County received a rain barrel, courtesy of WSA. Thank you to our amazing partners at WSA. Schools have until December to decorate their barrel and submit pictures to the Cultural Arts Council who will host an online voting contest. The barrels that garner the most “likes” from the community will win a digital weather system for their school!
At Alexander High School, Mrs. Michelle Davis' AP Environmental Class will be utilizing the barrel as part of the labs and lessons. Mrs. Davis said the rain barrel will be very useful in AP environmental science. She will do labs such as water quality and water testing. She will also use it for projects she does with AP students, such as plant projects and eco columns.

Other departments at AHS will be involved with projects using the barrel. The Art department, Marketing, Engineering, Digital Design and Agriculture will be assisting with the barrel decorating design, promotion of the benefits of water conservation, and using the water in the Alexander High School Greenhouse.
