DERIDDER, La. -- This is a press release previously issued from the Beauregard Parish School Board, Public Information Office , Kari Ifland.
The Partners in Education (PIE) program has been an active part of Beauregard Parish education for twenty-six years. The program is a joint venture between the school system and the Beauregard Area Chamber of Commerce.
The PIE program links businesses and organizations with schools to share resources, both in people and materials. Each flourishes from the support and prosperity of the other. Schools must prepare today's students for their entry into a competitive work force. When businesses take part in the education of these young people, they help strengthen the work force of the future.
Today, 68 local businesses partner with one or more of the thirteen parish schools to help the community and the school system work and grow together.
Businesses engage in many activities with their partner schools and the Central Office to enhance education. They sponsor field trips, provide back-to-school gifts for employees, sponsor incentives for testing week, judge science and social studies fairs, sponsor clubs and groups, support special events, and in many ways contribute to the success of our schools.
Area businesses are able to join the PIE program by contacting the school principal. The following businesses are involved in the Partner in Education program for the 2019-2020 school year:
