Featured Testimonials
"For Query.AI the costs of doing business have been much better in South Dakota. Also, while establishing here, we realized that we can further expand our team because universities like SDSU and DSU are producing relevant talent. We have been hiring people with computer science, data science, and cybersecurity backgrounds here with great results." - Dhiraj Sharan, CEO & Founder of Query.AI

Q: How many years have you been with GOED?
A: I started with GOED in January of 2007.

Q: What is the most surprising thing you've learned about economic development?
A: I wasn’t necessarily surprised to learn this, but rather, I changed my mindset for how we approach economic development. When I started, I thought economic development was strictly bringing new businesses to South Dakota. But as I learned more about our mission, and became more integrated, I learned that we also reinvest and build up existing businesses that are already in South Dakota.

Q: If you could sum up GOED's purpose in 10ish words, what would that be?
A: GOED's purpose is to assist new & existing businesses, by helping them start up, expand, or move to South Dakota.

Q: What's the biggest vehicle you've ever driven?
A: Growing up on the farm girl gives me a little bit of an advantage with this question- the biggest vehicle I've driven is a tractor.

Q: What pets did you have growing up?
A: The best part of growing up in the country was we were able to have tons of pets. Dogs, cats, stray kittens, turtles, ponies, horses, calves, and Sunny, the duck (who acted more like a cat than a duck).

Q: How handy are you when it comes to fixing things?
A: I act as the fix-it person in my house. I like to build things and have even remodeled my house!
