Supporting Local This Summer

Greater Springfield Partnership

As we begin to emerge from our post-pandemic cocoons (fingers crossed!), it is more important than ever for us to support our local businesses, local events, and local organizations. The struggles of small businesses and restaurants during the time of COVID-19 have been well-documented, in heartbreaking detail. And just because the masks are off doesn’t mean that the challenges are over.

But wait…there is some good news! We all have an opportunity to pitch in and help just by doing things that are actually fun!

The Power of a Well-Trained Workforce:
A New Way of Thinking About Economic Development

The Greater Springfield Partnership has just announced a new workforce development program in partnership with nationally recognized community building expert Quint Studer and his team at Vibrant Community Partners (VCP).

Focusing on training and developing Springfield’s local business community accomplishes four big, overarching goals. One, it keeps the current businesses strong and healthy. Two, it develops talent, which attracts outside businesses and investment. Three, it helps start-ups and entrepreneurs get businesses off the ground. Four, it ultimately creates a thriving community.

Through a strong collaborative with Clark State College, FASTLANE, Minority Business Development (City of Springfield), OhioMeansJobs Clark County, private business coaches, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Entrepreneurs’ Center (EC Dayton), The Abilities Connection (TAC), Wittenberg University, and Young Professionals of Greater Springfield we will create a robust, cohesive, and well-coordinated offering to assist our business community.

We need your help as we work together to close the skills gap and determine the training that’s most wanted and needed by our business community. Please take a few minutes to complete our Business Survey.
