Partnership Meeting: FEMA and Coastal Future of Flood Risk Data


At our May Partnership Meeting, we heard from Lauren Schmied, P.E., of the Engineering Resources Branch at FEMA about the exciting future of coastal flood risk data, including new tools that will enhance understanding and increase access to flood risk data in coastal communities.

NOAA has announced new communication resources and hurricane forecasting and analysis tools for the 2024 hurricane season, including an expansion of Spanish-language text products available from the National Hurricane Center.

The North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency recently launched the NC Resiliency Exchange. The Exchange will serve as an invaluable resource for local leaders by providing a clearinghouse of maps, tools, data, and other resources related to resiliency. Local leaders can use the Exchange to find sources of funding, understand their community's vulnerabilities, identify actions, connect with experts, and more.

The mission of the Southeast & Caribbean Disaster Resilience Partnership (SCDRP) is to serve as the primary regional network to build professional skills, facilitate knowledge-exchange, advance equitable adaptation approaches, promote strategies for accelerating natural disaster recovery, and facilitate strong and diverse partnerships across professional sectors.  SCDRP led by an Advisory Board and staffed by an Executive Director and Program Coordinator.
