Annual Giving Campaign
Dream to STEAM
| |
Did you know that Poway Unified School District is one of the lowest funded K-12 school districts in our region? The limited funding PUSD receives from the state does not allow us to offer the depth and array of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programs and experiences our students deserve and other districts are able to provide. For that reason, we count on your financial support every year so that all 35,000 students in our district continue to flourish and achieve extraordinary academic results. Please consider making a donation in any amount.

Thank you for your donations to Project Support and Supply
The PUSD Foundation's end of the year campaign, Project Support & Supply, raised over $17,325 to provide essentials for PUSD families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or other obstacles during the summer months. A check was presented to the Youth in Transition program to help support our 320 students and their families who are experiencing housing instability. Families who are living in any of the following situations may qualify for services:
- In an emergency or transitional shelter
- Living in a hotel or motel (i.e. no fixed/regular nighttime residence due to economic hardship)
- Unsheltered (i.e. living in a car, park, public space, abandoned building, campground, bus or train station, substandard housing, or similar setting which may include lack of water or electricity; health or safety risks
- Temporarily living with another person or relatives due to economic hardship or loss of housing (i.e. eviction, inability to pay the rent, destruction of home, illness, loss of employment, etc.)
- Unaccompanied homeless youth living away from the physical custody of a parent or guardian

Anthem Sponsors Red Ribbon Week
Anthem Blue Cross is this year's Red Ribbon Week sponsor. During the annual campaign, students are asked to pledge to pursue a healthy and responsible life by living drug free. The national campaign is a drug prevention program which aims to bring awareness and education to students and their families from October 21 to 31, 2023. This year's theme is "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free." Over 20,000 ribbons are distributed to students and teachers at every elementary school in the District and students engage in drug prevention activities throughout the week. A big thank you to our partner in education, Colleen Petty and the team at Anthem.
