Uruguay and Guyana join PAGE
On March 28, 2017, Uruguay and Guyana joined the Partnership for Action on Green Economy. The announcement was made at the PAGE Ministerial Conference in Berlin attended by more than 430 participants, including 40 Ministers.
Both countries have demonstrated a strong commitment to making the transition to inclusive green economies, reducing pollution and emissions, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

ver 20 ambassadors and 200 delegates from the permanent missions to the United Nations in Geneva gathered at a high level session titled, "Inclusive and Sustainable Economies: Powering the Sustainable Development Goals," organized under the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) and hosted by the International Labour Organization at its headquarters.

To ensure inclusive and sustainable development, the Government of Mauritius is developing a Vision 2030, a political strategy with key focus on addressing unemployment, alleviating poverty and fostering sustainable development. Government efforts are supported by the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) through advisory and capacity building services. Indeed, relative knowledge and capacities for inclusive green economy (IGE) are needed at all levels of the civil administration to support the implementation of Vision 2030.

Burkina Faso: Creating a model for joint delivery

Uruguay welcomes PAGE at the 2nd Regional Exchange and Practitioners' Dialogue Forum
The Second Regional Exchange and Practitioners Dialogue Forum, organized by the Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning and Environment of Uruguay (MVOTMA) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety of Germany (BMUB), and supported by members of the Inter-institutional Working Group on Green and inclusive Economy, took place on April 26th and 27th in Montevideo, Uruguay. The forum was entitled "Putting Inclusive Green Economy into Practice in Latin America and the Caribbean" and gathered representatives from over 140 relevant public institutions, academia, the private sector, civil society, and 9 regional countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru.

Opportunities Workshop
28-30 May, 2017 - Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
On May 29-30 2017, Mongolia will host a workshop on Green Economy, Sustainable Production, and Trade Opportunities in Ulaanbaatar. The workshop for policy makers and industry professionals will incorporate learning materials from the 2nd edition of the PAGE e-course on Green Economy and Trade. The training aims to
strengthen institutional capacities to identify and realize opportunities from greening trade. The course moderator, Krishna Heeramun, will serve as co-facilitator, thus sharing ideas and viewpoints from the course in the Mongolian context. By combining global knowledge products with local expertise, the training represents the latest synthesis of global and country-level PAGE support.

The Green Trade Workshop will be held at Nanjing International EXPO Center of Jiangsu Province on June 5, 2017. The workshop will be co-hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme, Policy Research Center for Environment and Economy of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Jiangsu International Environmental Development Centre, and is a part of the International Summit of the New Environmental Protection Technology 2017. Discussions will focus on recent trends on trade in environmental technologies at global, national and provincial levels;
opportunities and challenges for Jiangsu's trade with developing countries on environmental technologies; and Jiangsu's
good practices on facilitating trade and investment in environmental goods and services.

The World Bank launches Climate Action Peer Exchange (CAPE) to support green innovation for finance ministries
Over the past four years, the Partnership for Action on Green Economy has witnessed the importance of robust support from finance ministries in creating sustainable green economic policies. From eliminating fossil fuel subsidies, to implementing carbon pricing policies and integrating climate policies in budget processes and national development plans, finance ministries play a critical role in addressing climate change.
In recognition of this vital role, the
World Bank and the Morocco COP22 Presidency created the
Climate Action Peer Exchange (
CAPE), a new initiative that supports knowledge exchange and innovation among finance ministries on climate action.
