Teens and e-cigarettes
It's all about the flavor!
The 2022 National Youth Tobacco Survey administered in the spring, showed that 14.1% of high school students and 3.3% of middle school students reported using e-cigarettes
within the previous 30 days. Of those, 42.3% reported using them frequently, and 27.6% of them reported daily use. It was also noted that a large majority of the users preferred flavored products further confirming the push to target youth to experiment and get hooked on tobacco that tastes good. Click on this link to read more on the topic and results from the survey.

National Clean Out Your
Refrigerator Day
November 15th
Cleaning out your refrigerator is a healthy way to prevent germs that cause mold, odor and contamination that could result in food poisoning. It's also a time to remember to discard open alcohol containers and old or expired medications, such as insulin or anti-biotics. Youth access the fridge multiple times in a day, stay one step ahead and be sure to monitor what's inside and throw away what's not needed.

Make it a December to remember
National Impaired Driving Prevention Month
December is all about family, friends and celebration! Sadly, however, it's also a deadly month for impaired driving. Prevention experts and coalitions from across the country focus on efforts to educate communities and spread awareness on how to socialize safely, especially when it comes to our youth. Prevention Resources will lead that effort using social media to promote strategies on how to celebrate safely. Be on the look-out for Facebook and Instagram posts coming soon.
