The Pasadena City Council lacks the political courage to stand up to the tenants' rights activists. After attending three separate meetings while accompanied by many of you, the Council and Rental Board continue to ignore property owners. Our reasonable requests for Charter modifications will NOT go to the voters in November.
If you rent out your Single Family Home, ADU, Condo or Townhome, you will be under the jurisdiction of the unelected and unaccountable rental board. You will have to pay a yearly registration fee, sign up on the rental registry and be subject to owner move in fees of up to $37,000.
Please call and e-mail council members. We will always be respectful, polite and persistent. We will also remind them of the property taxes we pay and the fact that as registered voters, we can and will replace them.
As we approach the November ballots, we’ll be keeping you informed on key matters such as the so-called “Justice For Renters Act”. Prop 33. If passed, multi-family properties would be under VACANCY CONTROL and limited in their ability to take a vacated property to market rent.

Thank you to the many of you who have attended public meetings, spoken in public comment and written to council members. Please reach out to other property owners and encourage them to contact their council members. Just tell your own story and how Measure H is affecting you.
