Register for Pasadena Local Emergency Alert System

  Please register for PLEAS!

The Pasadena Local Emergency Alert System, or PLEAS, uses both text and voice messages to keep residents and community members in Pasadena informed in case of emergencies that affect areas in which they live or work. With this information, residents and businesses can make arrangements to help ensure the safety of family members, employees, pets, and property in the event of fires, floods, earthquakes, or other types of disasters.

BE READY. We want people to have a plan in place (including one for your pets) and supplies packed ahead of time.

This is also a good time to remind everyone to have important documents (and even those sentimental photos) scanned and saved!

Pasadena Humane Emergency Information

Pasadena Humane Field Services has been in touch with LA County and prepared to assist in the event that evacuation orders occur in our area. We are prepared to assist residents with their pets with the following:
· In the event that pet cats or dogs from any of our service cities need to be evacuated from their homes and owners have nowhere else to bring them, they may be taken into our shelter under Helping Paws Temporary Boarding (626.792.7151 ext. 281 or helpingpaws@pasadenahumane.org).
· We have an extra ACO on-call from midnight to 6 am in case the Red Cross activates an evacuation center. In the event of this activation, an ACO will be stationed at the Red Cross Center with a vehicle to assist with transport of pet cats and dogs to our shelter for temporary boarding.
· Horses are to be evacuated to the Pomona Fairgrounds, and if all 200 stalls get filled, Santa Anita Race Track can accommodate another 30-40 horses.
Please make sure to add me and Lieutenant Nemesio Arteaga to your emergency contact list:

  • Jack Hagerman, Vice President of Community Engagement, 626.792.7151 x 113

City Service Protection Measure will be on your November 3, 2020 ballot
City Services Protection Measure, will be on your November 3, 2020 ballot. For more than 100 years money has been transferred from the Pasadena Light and Power Fund to the City's General Fund. Money from this transfer is used for a number of City services and is a major component of the City's budget. The reason it was places on the ballot is because of a lawsuit that is using Prop 218 and Prop 26 to say that the transfer is an illegal tax on rate payers. Pasadena voters have approved the transfer 7 times since the 1930's.

The Pasadena City Services Protection Measure is not a new tax, it does not raise taxes, and it does not raise utility rates - the Charter amendment is meant to simply protect current funding levels that provide the services residents receive today.
