The Art Of Happiness, part of the Reflections Team's 3rd annual event, took place on Tuesday, April 11th from 5-7 at Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida.
Pasadena Villa had two resident artists participate in this event.
Their participation began with choosing to be a part of the Art Is Love
- Love Is Art show and auction. Orlando United Counseling coordinated the event to raise money for those individuals affected by the Pulse night club shooting in Orlando last summer. Many of these individuals still need counseling and have had difficulty paying for therapy. The show took place in March - with the on-line auction ending on March 13th.
In follow up, the Mental Health Association of Central Florida put together their 3rd annual show "The Art Of Happiness" with the theme "Hometown Pride". This catered event also took place at the beautiful Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando.
Last evening was a huge success. The resident artists were so thrilled to see their art work and other art submissions.
They were able to socialize with other artists, vote for their favorite artworks under Primary, Secondary and Adult categories and be included in raffles that took place ever twenty minutes.
They were so excited to notices others enjoying their art, taking photos and voting for their pieces.
Our residents also enjoyed socializing with others, especially the primary children who were eager to talk about their art teacher and water color resist techniques. They also interacted with some individuals that stated they also plan on attending the upcoming NAMI walk on April 29th. On that topic, our Open Art Studio participants, that wish to be on the design team, will be combining their visual ideas into one expression for the Pasadena Villa team and submitting their t-shirt design upon arrival to the walk.
Lastly, our two above mentioned resident artists decided to sign these art works over as a donation. Their art works will be displayed in the offices of Magellan Complete Care in Orlando, a sponsor of The Art of Happiness.
