The Apocryphal Gospels

Did you know that there is an equally large body of writings about the Bible and Jesus that are not in the books in our pews and on our bookshelves? Many of these carry ancient stories of Jesus as a child, the beginnings of Christianity and some may have even been written by and about powerful women. Why are some books in the Bible and others are not? Who decided what to put in and what to leave out? How do we know about these other biblical writings and what should we think of them?

Lunch is $5 with a "Junior Discount" of $1 for those under 50. No reservation are required. Sessions alternate between churches

Life of the Beloved:

Spiritual Living in a Secular World

by Henri Nouwen

During Lent, our entire congregation will read Henri Nouwen’s book Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World to learn more about what it means to live in the knowledge that we are Beloved and how we can reflect this Belovedness into the world. Books will be available for sale on Sundays beginning Feb. 17. A companion booklet for all ages will be available by March 1.

The Passages Class will discuss it March 10-April 14.

Books will be for sale in WFH beginning February 24. A companion booklet will also be available.
