Two beloved sisters were tragically killed that morning when the vehicle they were in left the road, struck an embankment and then a tree. The sisters who were passengers, died at the scene. The driver was 18 years old intoxicated, high on marijuana and driving recklessly at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. She suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Taylor London was 23 years old and looking forward to a brilliant future. She loved books and learning all she could. She graduated from UNCG with a BS degree in Psychology. She was working on her first novel when she passed away.
Meredith London was 18 years old and had just graduated high school and was planning to start college in the fall. She was the one to go to about the latest fashion even though she liked to wear her jogging pants all the time. She was going to be comfortable and didn’t care what others would think.
Both girls were known for their big smiles, big laughs and big hearts. When it came to listening to their friends' problems, they would listen and give advice which was respected. They loved being together and spending time with their siblings and family.
The driver had been drinking heavily and smoking marijuana and ultimately lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree. It took first responders almost ninety minutes to extract the driver, who was the only survivor, Meredith and Lauren (Taylor) were killed on impact.
The drivers test results were positive for marijuana and revealed a BAC of .20 at the time of the crash. It was determined the car left the road at more than 100 mph before hitting a tree.
