Dear Fellows,

We received the sad news that Class VII Fellow Philip E. Beard passed away on December 27, 2024. Philip's obituary highlights the deep love he had for his family, his passion for music, and an illustrious career as a bankruptcy attorney, adjunct professor, and mentor. Phil's former partner, George Snyder, writes that "Phil was a great student of the law and particularly bankruptcy law. He was a wonderful mentor, a consummate professional, and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed." You may find his obituary here.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Philip Beard to Vintage Senior Services at 421 North Highland Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, a senior care facility that was co-founded by his wife, Melinda, over 50 years ago and which continues to hold a special place in the hearts of the family.

We offer our condolences to Philip's four children, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends, and colleagues.
