Passing of HPD Captain Nathan Wharton

Aloha Dustin,

The Honolulu Chapter Board of Directors and I express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family, friends, co-workers, and classmates of Captain Nathan Wharton. The unfortunate news of his passing yesterday was met by the Honolulu Board with great sorrow and grief.

Captain Wharton was an extremely intelligent and capable officer and administrator and a friend to the Union and its membership. We at SHOPO mourn his loss, and we ask our colleagues and members to keep Captain Wharton and his loved ones in their thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. The early passing of an active-duty officer is a tragic heartache, and the loss of Captain Wharton is no exception. SHOPO sends its best to you all in this time of sadness.

Respectfully,

Nicholas Schlapak
