The National Veterans Network is deeply saddened by the loss of a great American, Secretary Norman Mineta. We will always remember his leadership, wisdom and his unwavering commitment to share the Japanese American WWII experience as an American story. We extend our deepest condolences to Deni and the Mineta family.
We are forever grateful for the support he provided to ensure that the Nisei Soldier Congressional Gold Medal would remain in the public's eye to tell the stories of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd RCT and Military Intelligence Service. He always spoke fondly of his brother, Dr. Albert Mineta, who served in the Occupation of Japan in World War II.
Norm's leadership and legacy of service will be remembered for generations to come. He will be deeply missed.
