Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, cleansing as His Bride, getting ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom,
As part of Holy Week I"m sharing an excellent article from David Silver, www.outofzion.org, on the connections--- really the mirror image--- of Passover and Passion Week which begins on Palm Sunday.
David's Comment: Connecting Passover and Passion Week
Leviticus 23:4-7 The LORD's Passover begins at twilight on the 14th day of the first month. On the fifteenth day of that month the LORD's Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.
Next Wednesday night the Jewish world will celebrate the 1st night of Passover which remembers the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt almost 4000 years ago. GOD had heard the desperate cries of His people who had been suffering cruel slavery in Egypt for 430 years and He had a plan to advance the covenant promises He had made with Abraham to give his descendants a land and make them a great people (Genesis 12;1-3). At the beginning of the 1st month of the year, Nisan, YHVH gave Moses specific instructions to prepare the people for deliverance from their suffering. They were to take a spotless lamb on the 10th day of Nisan, inspect it for perfection for 4 days, and just before sunset on the 14th of Nisan they were to kill the lamb, roast and eat the flesh, and place the blood on the door posts of their dwellings. Later that evening GOD came down and killed the first born sons and first born animals in all of Egypt, including the son of the Pharaoh, which caused him to finally set the Israelites free to leave and begin their journey to the Promised Land.
Passion Week begins with Palm Sunday this Sunday and two days after Passover begins, most of the Christian world will celebrate Easter. Both events remember and celebrate the death of a lamb. On Wednesday night the Jewish people will remember the slaying of the original Passover lambs, and on Good Friday the people of the New Covenant will remember the death of the Lamb of GOD - Yeshua, who bled to death on a cross in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. Most Messianic Jews combine both events and celebrate with the rest of the Jewish people on the 1st night of Passover. All New Covenant Believers will celebrate the fact that the blood of Yeshua washes us and cleanses us of all sin, and seals the eternal covenant that our Heavenly Father has invited us into and provided the blood of His only begotten Son to seal the covenant.
I know that many of you are already aware of the relevance of the Biblical Feasts (Moedim), but for the sake of those who are not, both of the above Holy days are very much connected in so many ways. In fact Christianity would not exist without Israel and the Jewish people (Romans 11:18) If YHVH had not delivered the Israelites from Egypt by the blood of the Passover lambs there would be no nation of Israel or its capital city Jerusalem. Nor would there have been a Bethlehem for Yeshua to be born in, and if Yeshua had not been born He would not have been crucified after 33 years and not resurrected 3 days later in Jerusalem. If Yeshua had not been crucified in and resurrected, there would be no spotless blood to seal the New Covenant that we are so privileged to be a part of. Sure, GOD may have done it another way, but you can see what I am saying.
Passover and Passion Week are not just connected - they are a mirror image of each other.........
* Passover preparations begins on the 10th of the month of Nisan (Exodus 12:3) - Yeshua rode into Jerusalem on the donkey on the 10th Nisan (Palm Sunday)
* The original Passover lambs were kept and inspected for 4 days - Yeshua the Lamb of GOD was inspected by the religious leaders in Jerusalem for 4 days
* The original Passover lambs were killed at 3 pm on Nsian 14th - Yeshua the Lamb of GOD died on the cross at 3 pm on Nisan 14th
* The blood of the original Passover lambs brought deliverance from physical slavery - the blood of the Lamb of GOD brings deliverance from slavery to sin
* Passover is observed for 7 days - Passion week began on Palm Sunday morning and Yeshuarose again at the end of Shabbat (7th day)
* Passover night is followed by the Festival of Unleavened Bread - Leaven represents sin and GOD instructed the Israelites to bake unleavened bread the night they were set free
* In 1 Corinthians 5:7 Paul urges us to remove the leaven (sin) from our lives Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Praise GOD that this year Passion Week and Passover are being celebrated at the same time, but it is not always the case. Some years the 2 events are 3 - 4 weeks apart, an indicator how far much of Christianity has drifted from the Biblical roots of the faith.
We believe that GOD is in the process of restoring the Church back to her Biblical roots. Each year more and more Christians are beginning to celebrate the Biblical Sabbath, and the Moedim. YHVH is preparing to re-establish His Kingdom on the Earth with His Son Yeshua, the Passover LAMB returning to Jerusalem as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, to sit on the Throne of David to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords. At this time as we all remember the Lamb of GOD and celebrate the power of His resurrection, is a perfect time to start your journey back to the roots of your faith. The LORD bless you as you bless Israel by praying for Shalom and safety over Israel at this very spiritually strategic time. Let's also pray that multitudes of Muslims will have a personal encounter with Yeshua over the month of Ramadan, and that GOD will lift the veil off the eyes of multitudes of Jews to see that Yeshua is the Lamb of GOD as they celebrate Passover this year.
Shabbat Shalom & Passover blessings ...... David & Josie

Every day National Day of Repentance receives requests from pastors from several nations for funds for food, medicine, and basic logistics for repentance trainings. We help as we can. The requests exceed the donations. We look to you, our brothers and sisters in this growing repentance remnant. No church, no denomination, no other ministry is behind us. Even small donations are a blessing. With any donation you will receive" fruit that will abound to your account." Philippians 4:17
God bless you,
