The Leonis Adobe Museum in Old Town Calabasas hosts its annual winter event, Holiday Roundup, on December 6th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The fun includes hands-on crafts, live music, and demonstrations of rancho life in the 1880s. Parents can shop for holiday gifts in our curated gift shop. Tickets can be purchased at the door.


Admission: $8 per person, members and children under 2 enter FREE!

Step back in time during our annual holiday program. See the Rancho House dressed up for a holiday party and tour our grounds for special performances. Hear stories of the Rancho’s past and enjoy the holiday spirit. End the evening with light refreshments in our Rancho Center and stop by our Museum Store for holiday-themed merchandise. Holidays at the Inn 2025 delivers another family fun event at the Stagecoach Inn Museum. Our Heritage Holidays event shares the traditions of the Conejo Valley’s various cultures.


Our two nighttime celebrations will be lit up, and the daytime brings games and crafts. Enjoy live music by community members and refreshments from the National Charity League. Of course, Santa Claus greets guests on Friday and Saturday. Bring your cameras. His live reindeer will “fly” in for Saturday’s day and night activities.


Members are FREE; you can join at the event. Get ready to celebrate the holidays at the Stagecoach Inn Museum!

Civil War Christmas


Drum Barracks Civil War Museum

During our Civil War Christmas event you can enjoy a self-guided walk-through of the museum, educational exhibits and displays on the grounds, a Civil War doctor, wet-plate photographer, a soldier's camp, and children's craft. Horse-drawn trolleys and carriages will begin carrying visitors between the Drum Barracks Museum and Banning Museum at 12:00 PM.

Book Arts Institute: Holiday Card Printing


International Printing Museum

Design and print your own holiday cards! After learning about the history of letterpress printing, how to set wood type, lock it into a chase, and ink the press, you'll be able to create 25 cards for the holidays! You'll also learn how to score and fold the cards in this hands-on and very active half-day workshop. All experience levels welcome. Minors (age 12-17) enrolled in this workshop must be accompanied by a paying adult. All materials provided.

Victorian Christmas


Banning Museum

Victorian Christmas at the Banning Museum has been an annual holiday tradition in the greater Los Angeles Area for over 35 years. The Museum grounds are transformed into a Christmas Festival featuring walk-through tours of the festively decorated Banning Mansion, Victorian dancers, cookies and hot cider, family holiday crafts, local food vendors, handmade crafts by area artisans, North Torrance High School Choir, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will pose for photos with the kids.. One of the highlights of the festivities is a horse-drawn trolley ride to the Drum Barracks Civil War Museum, also in Wilmington.

Come view the 1898 historic Kellogg House decorated for the holidays! Enjoy a guided tour about the Kellogg family and Victorian Christmas traditions. The guided tour ends with a cup of tea and a sweet treat!

Stories, Traditions, & Designs: Spotlighting the African American Quilters of Los Angeles

More than 25 dynamic quilts made by members of the African American Quilters of Los Angeles (AAQLA) will be on view at Pasadena Museum of History from October 4, 2025, through January 18, 2026. Members of AAQLA will select from among their own creations for a display that expresses their history, creativity, and shared experiences. From intricately pieced quilts that tell stories of struggle and triumph, to vibrant patterns that celebrate our unity and individuality, quilting has provided us with a means to celebrate our heritage and preserve our stories for future generations.

SBMM Debuts Autographed Surfboard from the World Premier of Bustin' Down the Door

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) is proud to unveil a new exhibit featuring an autographed surfboard from the 2008 world-premiere of Bustin’ Down the Door — the acclaimed surf documentary directed by Jeremy Gosch and narrated by Edward Norton. The board — shaped by Channel Islands Surfboards founder Al Merrick and signed by five world-surfing champions — connects to the film’s debut at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and SBMM’s coastal-culture mission.

US NAVY: STEWARDS OF THE SEA


Battleship Iowa Museum


Introducing the first interactive exhibit aboard the historic USS IOWA, marking the initial phase of our transition to becoming the National Museum of the Surface Navy, set to open in 2025.


Sponsored by the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Forces Command, “Stewards of the Sea: Defending Freedom, Protecting the Environment” educates visitors on the Navy’s environmental policies through interactive activities, displays, and panels.


Designed for all ages, the exhibit features hands-on stations like hydrophone technology, whale identification, and “Big Eyes” simulations, with Stewie the mascot guiding kids on safeguarding marine life. Visit today with general admission!

Historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe


At the Historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe Museum in San Miguel, Friends of the Adobes is in the final stages of completing their newest exhibit. Working closely with local Salinan Elders, FOTA staff created a tribute history of the Tribe that built Mission San Miguel and later the original building which houses the Museum. Design and art are the work of Steve Kalar, fifth-generation resident, who is internationally known having lived and worked in Italy for several years. FOTA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving local adobes.

There are so many ways to explore the world's largest collection of antique printing presses. Drop in on Saturdays to see our Colonial Shop, Gutenberg Press, and Linotype machine in action. Teachers can book a Graphic Arts tour, or an opportunity to experience history through a Constitutional Convention or the Inventive Ben Franklin virtual presentation. If your school is too far from Carson to visit, we can bring our Museum on Wheels outreach program to you.

Life at Sea


Los Angeles Maritime Museum

Exhibit Ongoing


The summer exhibit is “Life at Sea” - select photographs from the International Transport Workers Federation (ITFS) Seafarers' Trust Photo Competition. The first seafarers’ photography competition was launched in 2020. Seafarers were invited to submit photos of their experiences on board. The result is an unfiltered record of seafarers’ first-hand experience and a platform for their thoughts and reflections as well as images from daily life at sea.

The Talking Machine industry became like the Wild West, with outrageous advertising, fights over product names, lawsuits about patents, and litigations between the major players in the business of recorded sound.


Have a listen to the talking machines at the Stagecoach Inn Museum. They create an amazing sound with no electricity and are beautiful in their diversity. This ongoing exhibit is a treasure trove of turn-of-the-century cutting-edge technology and beautiful designs.

Touchstones, Our Rocky Beginnings


Bolton Hall/Little Landers Historical Society


Join us for a new exhibit at Bolton Hall Museum. The Museum is open for your visits and exhibit viewing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.


Touchstones: Our Rocky Beginnings explores the important role local Arroyo stone played in our community's early development and how this rare sub-theme of Arts and Crafts architecture became the character-defining feature of early 20th century Tujunga. The exhibit contains many rare images from our archives chronicling the use of river rock in everything from houses to hospitals, check-dams to churches. Learn what steps Little Landers Historical Society takes to protect and preserve these important links to our pioneer past and how you can help.

The Heritage Memorial Rose Garden

Our garden is filled with roses and other colorful and fragrant flowers. The walkway meanders through the garden, leading to a flora-covered archway and a bench for resting and enjoying the splendor.


The walkway grows each year, for it is truly a memory lane. As you look at the bricks, you will see tributes to people, families, and businesses carved in. If you want to leave a lasting memorial to your family or loved ones, say it in stone! A donation fee covers the purchase and installation of bricks.

Reyes Adobe Historical Site


The historical Reyes Adobe site is looking for volunteers! If you want to donate your time by participating in the Agoura Hills Community and learning about local California history, this could be the place for you. At the moment, we are looking for enthusiastic docents to lead guided tours around the property. Please join us as our historic Adobe home is re-opened to the public, and be part of this wonderful project. If you or someone you know is interested, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Reyes Adobe Historical Site


Interested in local history? The Reyes Adobe Historical Site is an early California rancho featuring a preserved adobe home, interpretive displays, and an adobe barn that is now a museum. After much hard work, it is ready to welcome the public beginning January 2026.


Join us on the 2nd Saturday and 3rd Tuesday of each month to participate in docent-led or self-guided tours around the historic Adobe buildings and beautiful surrounding grounds. Uniformed American & Californio soldiers relive the Battle of Rio San Gabriel: this battle played a decisive role in the California campaign during the Mexican–American War. Whether you're a classroom teacher, scout leader, college professor, homeschool group, or team organizer, the International Printing Museum offers engaging tours for all ages. Students can explore the rich history of printing and the innovations of Gutenberg and Franklin through our highly interactive field trips. Civic groups, corporate teams, and nonprofits can enjoy hands-on experiences with the book arts. Our award-winning Museum on Wheels brings antique printing presses and engaging programs to schools, libraries, and events across Southern California. Since 1988, we've inspired over half a million people through creative, hands-on learning experiences in the history and art of printing.


Admission: $350 minimum (includes 25 guests); $14/guest for groups larger than 25 people.

Passport 2 History is brought to you by the Leonis Adobe Museum in beautiful Old Town Calabasas. The Leonis Adobe Museum is Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #1 and operates as a living history museum.


Feed animals and explore one of the oldest residences in Los Angeles County. Learn the story of Miguel Leonis, a French Basque immigrant who became the King of Calabasas, and Espiritu Leonis, his Chumash-Tongva common-law wife who, following Miguel's death, won a 16-year court battle for a wife's share of his estate despite the odds against her.
